Healthy Life Laboratories Announces A1c Converter the Release of First iPhone Application for diabetes and Healthcare Professionals

Healthy Life Laboratories Announces Hemoglobin A1c iPhone Application

Healthy Life Laboratories has announced the release of its first iPhone Application for use by diabetes patients and healthcare professionals – the A1c Converter. This application, the first of its kind for use on iPhone and iPod Touch systems, is designed to help diabetics better understand the relationship between blood glucose and hemoglobin A1c.

Maintaining good blood glucose control is essential for diabetics. Home glucose meters provide users with a snapshot of the glucose level in the blood at the time of blood testing. Hemoglobin A1c is a marker that provides a look back at glucose control over the previous 90-120 days. Physicians and diabetes educators use A1c as a disease management tool to gauge the effectiveness of diabetes therapies.

“We wanted to develop an easy-to-use tool to permit those familiar with A1c testing to determine their Estimated Average Glucose (eAG), as recommended by the American Diabetes Association, and at the same time provide a means for patients who are given a target for A1c to use their blood glucose results to estimate their A1c outcome,” explains Dr. Jack Maggiore, president of Healthy Life Laboratories.

This application’s two-way calculator converts input A1c scores to average glucose levels, and vice versa, and a sliding scale shows the continuous relationship between A1c and glucose. This application permits the user to answer questions like, “I had a daily glucose of 169 today. If my glucose stays at this level, what will my A1c score be?” Similarly, if the user knows his A1c score was 7.1, this tool will tell him that his average glucose for the past 90 days was 157. This knowledge might help the individual know where his daily glucose level should be to achieve the desired A1c score.

The A1c Converter is the first in a series of planned applications which will include interactive diabetes educational games to help children better manage their glucose, and a training application on collecting quality blood samples for glucose testing.

Bytemobile Announces New Unison Mobile Internet Platform with Bytemobile’s New Media Optimization, Widget Bar and MobileMatch Applications

Bytemobile Releases Next Generation of Unison Mobile Internet Platform, Offering Multiple Advantages for Network Operators and Consumers

Bytemobile, Inc., the global leader in mobile internet solutions for wireless network operators, today announced the general availability of its new Unison™ Mobile Internet Platform. The latest Unison release – which includes Bytemobile’s new Media Optimization, Widget Bar and MobileMatch™ applications – provides operators with a comprehensive and flexible solution for sustaining profitable growth and driving continued mobile data adoption.

“Bytemobile has won over 100 global wireless carriers and is benefiting from the secular trend of an explosion of content growth on wireless networks,” said Kenneth Muth, senior research analyst for Network Technology at Robert W. Baird & Co. Incorporated. “Obviously, as carriers deploy 4G networks with bigger pipes, more applications will emerge and traffic patterns for carriers will only get worse.”

One Platform, Multiple Solutions

“Bytemobile’s rich product portfolio addresses the specific challenges and opportunities facing operators today, ranging from explosive data traffic growth and diversification to service differentiation and personalized mobile web browsing,” said Adrian Hall, Bytemobile chief marketing officer. “While the Unison architecture obviates the traditional need to deploy point products from multiple vendors, its flexible, open nature enables operators to intelligently integrate services developed by Bytemobile and other providers.”

Deployed in the core data path of the network, the Unison platform processes all data traffic for Bytemobile applications. These fully interoperable applications are consolidated in a single node for ease of new service deployment, increased operating efficiency and scalability of capacity. Following is a summary of the Bytemobile product portfolio on the Unison platform.

Optimization and Services Node (OSN)

  • The OSN Web Optimization application reduces network data volumes to increase capacity for growth in internet traffic and users, enabling operators to manage their operating and capital costs and enhance the user experience with significant download speedup.
  • The WebGate™ Service, an optional application of the OSN, provides a single service control point within the network for all data traffic, which enables operators to deliver innovative new services such as parental controls, fair-use policies and captive portal applications to their customers while controlling data flow through intelligent service selection.
  • The MobileMatch Service, an optional application of the OSN, supports the selection and delivery of the most relevant value-added services for individual consumers, using real-time analysis of both contextual and behavioral data.

Web Fidelity™ Suite

  • The Web Fidelity Suite Content Adaptation application dynamically and transparently transcodes web, Flash and multimedia content for interactive use on all mobile devices, while retaining the functionality and integrity of the original PC experience.
  • The Widget Bar application provides operators with a direct communication channel to the mobile user, empowering them to deliver portal content to all off-portal pages and to influence and simplify the browsing experience by suggesting useful and relevant content, applications and widgets.
  • The Ad Insertion application enables operators to serve highly relevant advertisements to consumers, thereby opening substantial new revenue streams while enhancing the customization and personalization of the user’s mobile browsing experience.

Media Fidelity™ Suite

  • The Media Fidelity Suite Media Optimization application enables operators to manage the impact of escalating video traffic on their network operations and dramatically increase quality of service to users through data reduction and control of effective bandwidth utilization.

Truphone Launches Truphone 3.0 for the iPhone

Truphone 3.0 for the iPhone Brings It All Together

New Architecture Delivers Improved User Experience, Simplified Management and Performance Boost

  • User experience now slicker and more intuitive than ever before
  • Account management outpaces anything else now on the market
  • Application faster than ever before – now native on the handset
  • Radically improved call quality to make it what we believe is the best in the market

Truphone today launched Truphone 3.0, a major new upgrade to its mobile VoIP application for the Apple® iPhone™ that dramatically builds upon the success of previous versions of the iPhone’s first ever VoIP application, enhancing users’ instant messaging and account management experience, faster than ever before, and delivering a new standard for call quality.

Among the many improvements in Truphone 3.0 are increased ease of use, speed of function response, intuitiveness and simplicity – all designed to enhance the users’ experience. Further, Truphone has improved voice quality making the app for the iPhone better than it’s ever been before.

Using Truphone’s integrated messaging tool that unifies all IM communities in a single place, users can now simply manage all their IM communication from a single page within the application, eliminating the need to constantly jockey between different applications or even different pages within an application. IM services currently supported include Skype, MSN Messenger, AIM, Yahoo! Messenger and Google Talk.

“Customers tell us they want three things: simplicity, quality and a good deal. Those principles drive our innovation, and Truphone 3.0 delivers on all three. We’ve dramatically improved our UI and account management tools. We’ve eliminated the need for compression by utilizing new advances in signal processing, making calls crystal clear. And, just as we always do, Truphone 3.0 sets a new benchmark in terms of quality and performance that competitors will have a tough time matching”, said Geraldine Wilson, CEO Truphone.

“With these improvements, we believe Truphone 3.0 is the best application on mobile for our customers’ international calling needs as well as staying in touch with all of their IM communities, in or out of Wi-Fi.”

Similar improvements to Truphone for the Apple iPod® touch will be announced soon.
