Soliton’s Smart-telecaster (www.smart-telecaster.com) delivers high quality, real-time video streaming over public mobile networks such as 3G and 4G/LTE. Smart-telecaster is powered by Soliton’s proprietary RASCOWTM Technology (Real-time Auto-Speed Control, based on the Waterway model), which dynamically adjusts video compression ratio and frame rates to ensure a smooth and low-latency video/audio transmission, even over fluctuating mobile network.
Dr. Nobuo Kamata, Soliton’s CEO commented, “We are pleased to provide our customers a highly convenient new way to bring broadcast quality video with an iPhone from dynamic and challenging situations.”
Shinya Hyakutake, Director of Mobile Video Communications Division, said, “Our new STC for iPhone capitalizes on smart phones’ growing capabilities and popularity to now enable broadcast reporters and emergency personnel to easily transmit high-quality live video from about anywhere. STC for iPhone uses camera and communication functions on the ultra-portable iPhone instead of typical heavy video cameras,” Nagisa Oyoshi, Producer, Tokyo Broadcasting System Television, said. “We chose STC-HD because the success of mobile newsgathering and live broadcast depends on a robust cellular uplink. STC for iPhone is fantastic. OB-VAN in your pocket! This is a revolution in broadcasting history.”
The Smart-telecaster for iPhone System consists of an App now available on Apple’s App Store and Soliton’s STC-Multi View dedicated receiver.
Soliton plans to continue developing high quality and easy-to-use live video broadcasting solutions, including a cloud-based service for “use only when you want” live video system for events such as weddings.
