AdvancedIO Systems Announces expressXG FPGA Framework to Tackle Challenging System Communication Problems

AdvancedIO Systems Announces expressXG Framework for Rapid High-Bandwidth Application Development

Abstraction of Ethernet Protocols and Interfaces Simplifies Application Implementation

AdvancedIO® Systems, the leader in high-bandwidth connectivity solutions optimized for decision-critical applications, today announced the availability of expressXG™, an FPGA framework that accelerates customers’ ability to tackle challenging system communication problems. The framework gives customers the tools to embed their own applications directly into AdvancedIO’s 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10GbE) interfaces. The applications quickly benefit from the line-rate performance capability of FPGAs by leveraging AdvancedIO’s expertise implementing Ethernet communications for demanding real-time systems.

“We see increasing demand for 10GbE interfaces that can address unique customer connectivity problems,” noted Rob Kraft, VP Marketing at AdvancedIO Systems. “expressXG is ideal for designers who need to deploy their own algorithms quickly and provides us the scalability to service growing customer demand.”

expressXG is a framework of FPGA firmware and host software that abstracts the details of Ethernet protocols and interfaces such as 10GbE controllers, memory controllers, and host fabric interfaces, thereby reducing the development effort and schedule for designers to implement custom algorithms. The removal of hardware dependencies also enables future code portability. Customers recognizing the unique abilities of AdvancedIO’s 10GbE products to meet line-rate processing requirements requested the opportunity to tightly couple their proprietary or classified algorithms into the data flow as a means of overcoming previously unsolvable system challenges. expressXG provides a “sandbox region” where they can include their own applications, building on top of a solid foundation of AdvancedIO’s 10GbE implementation experience and patent-pending technology.

expressXG is now available and shipping. For more information, please contact: 1.604.331.1600 x208 or contactus@advancedio.com.

3M Introduces No Polish LC Connector for Multimode and Singlemode and No Polish Connector LC/APC for Singlemode Fiber Applications

3M Introduces LC and LC/APC No Polish Connectors for Fast, On-Site Installs Indoors and in the Outside Plant

Further expanding its No Polish Connector line, 3M today introduced the new No Polish LC Connector for both multimode and singlemode fiber applications and the No Polish Connector LC/APC for singlemode fiber applications.

Both enable fast on-site installation of 250 micron and 900 micron terminations utilizing a one-piece, pre-assembled design. Like other members of the 3M No Polish Connector family, the newest connectors are designed to save installation technicians time while helping to minimize capital investment.

The LC NPC is tested for FTTP and premises applications for both indoor and outdoor locations and is available in SM, 62.5 micron, 50 micron and also 50 micron LOMMF (laser optimized multimode fiber) for 10 Gb applications.

The LC/APC NPC is available with a standard, flat splice configuration or with a keyed, angle -splice for excellent back reflection of less than -60 decibels. No Polish Connector LC/APC Flat Splice Connectors are designed to deliver excellent performance for digital transmission networks such as at an optical network terminal that requires a LC/APC termination. No Polish Connector LC/APC Keyed, Angle Splice Connectors from 3M are specifically designed for analog video transmission with very low optical reflection of less than -60 decibels across temperature extremes.

With a factory-polished ferrule assembly and mechanical splice technology, NPC connectors from 3M can be installed with a simple field tool in less than two minutes and eliminates the need for time-intensive polishing in the field. A streamlined boot attached to the body of the connector minimizes the chances of losing or forgetting to install the boot during connection. After installation, the boot will assist in maintaining the minimum fiber bend radius. No Polish Connectors from 3M meet EIA/TIA 568-B.3 and IEC requirements and are RoHS compliant 2002/95/EC.

UBIqube Solutions Announces New and Enhanced Version of MSActivator that Combines VoIP Services with Network and Security services in one integrated platform

UBIqube’s Enhanced MSActivator Platform Combines Network and Security Services with Managed VoIP

MSActivator 9.0 Enables Service Providers, System Integrators and MSSPs To Expand Beyond Traditional Services while Lowering the Cost of Delivery

UBIqube Solutions SA, a global integrated network and security-management solution vendor, today announced a new, enhanced version of MSActivator TM that combines VoIP services with network and security services in one integrated platform.

MSActivator 9.0’s offers a unified solution for network security and voice management and monitoring. It also lowers operating expenses by reducing the time required to manage VoIP services and provides a unified Web portal for provisioning, monitoring and reporting.

The platform’s enhanced features for VoIP management include:

  • Essential telephony and voice mail configuration
  • Data/voice twin-VLAN configuration on call-manager express (CME) and unified communications (UC) routers
  • Session initiation protocol (SIP) trunk configuration between CME and UC
  • Easy VPN setup for non-VoIP routers
  • Easy configuration of proper QoS settings for optimum VoIP experience

For end-users, the new features are integrated in the self-service unified Web portal for the management of IP phones, dial plans, user groups and voicemail.

In addition to managed VoIP services, MSActivator 9.0 offers service providers, system integrators, and MSSPs a user-friendly and intuitive GUI interface, vulnerability assessment and support for Cisco UC500 devices. The platform is hosted by service providers in their SOC/NOC, but can also be offered on an IT-as-a-service basis to MSSPs relying on the UBIqube EAL1+ securely operated SOC.

“Despite all its benefits, implementing VoIP is time consuming and presents organizational and security challenges that can only be met by using a unified management tool,” said Nabil Souli, CEO and chairman of UBIqube. “MSActivator 9.0’s enhancements, which are driven by the needs of our partners, meet those challenges in an integrated platform for VoIP, network and security services.”

In addition to building on UBIqube’s vision of converged service delivery, which has been validated by the company’s service provider partners and eco-system partners like Cisco Systems, MSActivator 9.0 enables service providers and system integrators to expand beyond the traditional range of services while lowering the cost of delivery.
