Launched at TETRA World Congress in Dubai, the three new models in the MTP3000 series answer core user demands for increased user safety and reliability and set new standards with significant improvements in audio quality, increased network coverage, ruggedness and ease of use. These radios will increase choices for the differing needs of users, ranging from entry level to advanced, with feature sets that match operational needs.

The new MTP3000 radios offer the highest receiver sensitivity in the market (a -2db increase on all existing TETRA radios), which allows a 14 percent range increase and a 30 percent boost to network coverage, when compared to a European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) specification radio.¹ The MTP3000 series has been designed to deliver superior audio quality with an optimum level of audio loudness and clarity of voice, coupled with a superior microphone system, ensuring that users can hear and be heard clearly, even in the noisiest environments.

KEY FACTS

The enhanced sensitivity and true 1.8W output will provide the best network coverage and will enhance coverage in buildings and increase user safety.
The radio features two control knobs, one for volume and one for talk groups. This offers a user experience similar to analogue radios, allowing easy migration from analogue to digital communications. It also makes it easier to use for users wearing the radio out of eye sight (such as the back of the belt).
The MTP3000 series introduces a new fast and rugged IP55-certified side connector, allowing the user to connect and disconnect an accessory in less than two seconds.

TRACES now allows public safety network operators to collect, visualise and evaluate real-time data from mission-critical TETRA networks allowing them to view usage patterns and quickly identify and react to coverage black spots, thereby maintaining a stable network at all times for users in the field.

The new TRACES version builds a detailed picture of the entire mission critical network by automatically and continuously capturing network performance data from actual user devices and base stations.

Real time Information availability also allows network operators to monitor their compliance against typical KPI and SLA criteria.

The new Uplink Measurement Report (UMR) module, the latest TRACES innovation, enables Operators to collect real-time data from their Motorola Dimetra IP network system over ETSI GPS signals from any TETRA user radio while they are in use in the field. The first generation of TRACES focuses on recording coverage issues (Downlink Measurement Reports – DMR) via the radio as it’s used in the field. The use of TRACES as an analytical tool can also greatly reduce maintenance costs because it averts the need for regular drive testing in problem areas.
When changes occur on the network the actual coverage that is being supplied by the network is quickly visible to the operator who no longer has to rely on predicted coverage maps.
TRACES enables network administrators to instantly analyse measurement reports and statistics created from end-user radios and network devices. This allows effective and rapid identification and tracking of network coverage issues and changes.

RICHARDSON, Texas–(BUSINESS WIRE)–

Eltek, the world leader in high efficiency power systems, today announced a new 48V rectifier for its Flatpack S DC power systems to meet demand in the telecom industry for a high-efficiency power system that can fit into small spaces.

The 48V Flatpack S is designed for applications like wireless base station, broadband, fiber-to-the-curb (FTTC), fiber-to-the-building (FTTB) and wireless remote radio head (RRH) cabinets. It provides 95.5 percent power conversion efficiency and is housed in a standard-width telecom power shelf that is shallow (210 mm or 8.3”) and only 41.5 mm (1.6”) high.

The new Flatpack S rectifiers deliver 1000W of power and can be used in both the two-slot and three-slot Flatpack S power shelves. Additional systems with higher power ratings are planned for future release.

The Flatpack S shelves also can be equipped with 1000W, 24V rectifiers for industrial applications.

The Smartpack S also features an extensive list of battery health and monitoring algorithms to extend the life of battery backup systems and ensure backup power when it is needed.

The Flatpack S DC power system can be configured for a variety of output power levels to meet individual application requirements. It can be flush-mounted or mid-mounted, has two plug-in battery breaker positions, low voltage battery disconnect (LBVD) and several load options. In addition, there is a pull-out drawer for easy access to the connection points and cable strain relief.

The xMax 2.0 system delivered wireless data at broadband speeds to a group of rural telco executives’ smartphones and laptops while they were traveling in a moving vehicle near xG’s Fort Lauderdale facilities. Users were able to seamlessly access the Internet through the xMax system without using a commercial cellular connection or using any capacity from their cellular data plans.
