BroadSoft Announces HD Video Conferencing Service
Enabling Telecommunications Service Providers to Offer a Cost Effective, On-Demand Video Conferencing Service to Businesses of All Sizes
BroadSoft, Inc. (NASDAQ:BSFT – News), the leading global provider of IP-based communications services to the telecommunications industry, today announced the commercial availability of BroadCloud Video — a high-definition (HD), always available, video conferencing service that business users can connect to from a variety of desktop and room telepresence environments. It is the first BroadCloud Unified Communications (UC) service to be made commercially available following the company’s announcement of the BroadCloud® cloud-based, hosted infrastructure platform last fall.
A recent ABI Research report projects that the value of the telepresence, video infrastructure and endpoints market, of which HD video is a component, is set to reach $5.5 billion by 2016. By utilizing a cloud-based service delivery platform, BroadCloud Video enables service providers to deliver HD video conferencing that is simple for enterprise customers to manage, offers predictable costs, requires minimal upfront investments and seamlessly integrates with an organization’s existing communications services and video enabled endpoints, whether a desktop, mobile device, room telepresence, etc.
“BroadCloud Video is designed to enable our service provider customers to offer a cost-effective, high-definition video conferencing service to businesses of all sizes, but we believe the pricing structure and minimal support requirements will be particularly attractive to mid-size businesses that are currently underserved by today’s video conferencing technology options,” said Michael Tessler, president and chief executive officer, BroadSoft. “The goal of BroadCloud Video is to accelerate the adoption of video conferencing, which we believe will improve the productivity of businesses by allowing users to seamlessly connect, collaborate and engage.”
