WatchDox Releases iPhone and iPad Application for Safe Document Sharing

WatchDox Announces the First and Only Way to Securely Share Sensitive Documents with iPad and iPhone Users

New App Extends WatchDox Document Protection and Virtual Data Room Services to Apple iOS Devices, Ensures Secure Mobile Collaboration with Confidence to Prevent Data Leaks

Confidela, the maker of WatchDox, a document control, tracking and protection solution, today announced that it is strengthening its support for mobile platforms with the release of the only iPhone and iPad application that ensures safe document sharing on potentially insecure mobile platforms. The iPhone/iPad app is the latest in a series of WatchDox developments aimed at preventing information leaks and securing documents anywhere – on PCs, in the cloud and on mobile devices.

C-level executives and mid-level employees alike have been quick to adopt mobile devices for their ability to create an anywhere, anytime workplace. However, users who now access sensitive materials via iPads and iPhones, as well as through other mobile devices, are facing a new risk by assuming their intellectual property is protected on these platforms. Widespread usage of smart phones and tablet computers for business-critical communications has created an environment vulnerable to data leaks.

“Leading analyst firms are forecasting over 50 million tablets to be shipped in 2011,” said Moti Rafalin, founder and CEO of WatchDox. “At the same time, analysts warn against the risks involved in allowing access to enterprise documents from less protected mobile platforms – forcing enterprises to think about secure document sharing solutions.”

WatchDox’s solution enables businesses to easily set individualized protection parameters for user access via the iOS application, which displays documents on a secure viewer. The app extends all WatchDox features to iPads and iPhones, including user authentication, restrictions on copying, printing and forwarding documents, user-specific watermarks, advanced tracking and more.

“Increasingly, executives want to access sensitive documents and reports, access virtual data rooms, and receive other materials via mobile devices, but previously these platforms have not provided the level of protection required for confident collaboration,” explained Rafalin. “We developed the WatchDox app to close these security gaps in mobile access, bringing the same stringent level of document control to iPads and iPhones that we have delivered to other platforms.”

In addition to its Apple iOS app, WatchDox supports personal computer operating systems and other mobile platforms such as Android’s 2.2 Froyo.

The WatchDox iPhone/iPad application is freely available via the Apple App Store: http://itunes.apple.com/il/app/watchdox/id403240385?mt=8. Sending of documents requires a subscription to the WatchDox service.
