Sybase 365 Announces First IPX Platform to Deliver Full Suite of Services to Fixed and Mobile Operators Through One Secure IP Network

Sybase IPX 365 Provides Core Data and Messaging Solutions with Highest Quality of Service, Cost Reductions, Operational Efficiencies

BARCELONA, Spain–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Sybase 365, a subsidiary of Sybase, Inc. (NYSE:SY – News), the global leader in mobile messaging and mobile commerce services, today announced Sybase® IPX 365™ — a full suite of IP eXchange (IPX) services designed to serve both the fixed and mobile network operator communities with premium quality of service and security required in the conversion to IP networks.

By combining the strengths of Sybase 365 and leading partners, the Sybase IPX 365 platform provides network operators with a competitive advantage including cost reduction and improved service quality. Operators now have the possibility to connect to one secure, high-quality network to manage their business operations more efficiently.

“No other company offers all the services that we do on one IP MPLS platform, creating operational efficiencies and cost reduction for service providers while still delivering the best quality service through one secure platform,” said Marty Beard, President, Sybase 365. “Sybase IPX 365 offers network operators a competitive advantage, enabling them to provide their customers with a distinguished platform and full portfolio of advanced IPX services.”

As one of the first companies to offer a full IPX platform, Sybase combines its leading messaging and data roaming services with those of Telecom New Zealand International (TNZI), a leader in voice and signalling services, to ensure operators experience a complete portfolio of the best in breed IPX carrier services, including data roaming, messaging hubs, IPX voice, and signalling.

“Expanding our partnership with Sybase to include Signalling as part of the IPX product suite in addition to our joint IPX voice service was a natural next step,” said Anthony Briscoe, General Manager, International TNZI. “Our combined strengths offer operators a complete, secure platform that will enable delivery of consistent high quality data and voice services via IP.”

With the mobile industry increasingly turning to IP as its preferred technology, demand has grown for private IP networks that ensure quality technical performance for high-value data transport in a secure environment.

“Increasingly network operators will need to differentiate their services by delivering levels of service that cannot be guaranteed over the unprotected and open Internet,” said Brian Partridge, Vice President, Yankee Group. “This new paradigm ensures demand for IP inter-connectivity solutions that can provide E2E security and a high quality of experience.”

Sybase IPX 365 full suite of services includes:

  • Data Roaming –As an evolution of Sybase GRX 365, the market leading global data roaming service, Sybase IPX 365 provides direct access to one of the largest on-net communities of mobile operators, ensuring end-to-end high quality of service.
  • Messaging Hubs (MMS, SMS) – Sybase IPX 365 extends the “hubbing” model enabling service providers to connect only once to a hub to reach all the other networks connected to that hub for the exchange of multimedia and text messages.
  • IPX Voice – Built on one of the best MPLS IP Global networks in the world, combined with call control provided by TNZI’s next-generation softswitch, and supported by TNZI’s globally-recognised expertise in the international voice business, the Sybase IPX 365 network can guarantee the high levels of security and quality that fixed and mobile operators require for their international voice traffic.
  • Signalling – Sybase IPX 365 provides access to TNZI’s state-of-the-art Signalling Connect service. This service provides transit routing of signalling messages between a mobile operator and its roaming partners – either at the MTP level or at the SCCP level – and includes an ANSI translation service. With this service, operator customers can use their connection to Sybase IPX 365 to reach Sybase’s market leading SMS hub.
