GigOptix Announces Flip Chip Version for All Members of the HXT/R4 Family of Parallel PMDs

Availability of GigOptix HXT/R4 PMDs for Flip Chip Assembly

GigOptix, Inc. (OTCBB:GGOX – News), today announces the availability of the flip chip version for all members of the HXT/R4 family of parallel PMDs.

GigOptix’s parallel HXT/R4 PMDs, available in both 4 and 12 channels variants, have been validated for use at extended data rates, allowing them to support multiple applications ranging from 5Gb/s to 12.5Gb/s per channel. Thanks to the robustness of the design and leveraging the advanced feature set of the HXT/R4 family, customers can find the optimum tradeoff between power dissipation for each optical link, as demonstrated by successfully running a 100m link with less than 100mW total power dissipation.

“Continuing in our efforts to provide our customers with best in class products and unparalleled value, we are today announcing the availability in volumes of the flip chip version of our family of 10G parallel PMDs. These devices support the request from the market for ever increasing performance and assembly yield while reducing the cost of the optical interconnects,” stated Joerg Wieland Vice President and GM of GigOptix-Helix. “Also, flip chip technology is a further step in providing the best solutions in the market as data rates continue to rise.”

GigOptix HXT/R4 family of PMD’s have been qualified using commercial standards accepted by its Telecom and Datacom customers.
