Wilson Electronics (www.WilsonElectronics.com), manufacturer of North America’s top-selling line of cell phone signal boosters, at CES announced the launch of the Sleek, its newest all-in-one signal booster.

Designed for use in a vehicle, or with an optional accessory package in the home or office, the Sleek will be available for purchase early February 2010 at www.WilsonElectronics.com (click the “Buy it Now” tab) with a manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) of $129.00. Ideal for use with a Bluetooth headset or other hands-free device, it provides users everything needed for simple do-it-yourself installation.

“With the Sleek, we incorporated the same performance and advantages Wilson Electronics is known for into the smallest and lowest priced signal booster the company has ever produced,” said Joe Banos, Wilson Electronics COO. “The great part is that we did not have to compromise the features. Sleek users will benefit from the tried and tested Wilson technology found in our line of cell phone signal boosters, but at a much lower price.”

The Sleek will extend the calling range and signal strength of any phone on any North American cell service provider’s network (Except Nextel/iDEN). This means fewer disconnects, dropped calls, and no-service “dead zones,” and faster data transfer rates on 3G networks.

How it Installs

  • First, attach the outside magnetic mount antenna, which captures the weak cell tower signal
  • Second, plug the Sleek’s power adapter into the cigarette lighter
  • Third, attach the cable from the outside antenna to the dash-mounted Sleek cradle
  • Fourth, place phone in the cradle of the Sleek and connect with your wired hands-free device or Bluetooth headset

How it Works

The roof-mounted antenna receives the phone’s signal from the cell tower and sends it to the Sleek cradle via cable. The signal is then boosted by the Sleek’s built-in amplifier and then transmitted to the cell phone by its built-in antenna. The process is then repeated in reverse to send a boosted cell phone signal back to the cell tower.

The Sleek operates on both the 800 MHz (cellular) and 1900 MHz (PCS) frequency bands, and like all Wilson Electronics cell signal boosters, the Sleek meets all FCC and Industry Canada technical specifications.

Additional specifications of the Sleek amplifier include:

  • Weight: .16 lbs
  • Height: 4 ¼ inches
  • Width: 2 ½ inches
  • Depth: 2 ¼ inches
