TIERONE™ announced today availability of NETPortal™ 7.1. NETPortal’s product suite enables Service Providers to deliver and manage enterprise services with customer focus, speed, and accuracy in one multi-function, easy-to-configure software solution. Release 7.1 adds complex Ethernet network and service design to NETPortal’s leading edge, customer-centric solution that automates fulfillment and assurance functions.

NETPortal 7.1’s Ethernet features include network and service design support for:
- Ethernet links
- Ethernet links over Layer 1 transport, e.g. SONET
- Ethernet networks
- Ethernet services, e.g. ELINE (point to point), ELAN (multipoint to multipoint), and ETREE (point to multipoint)
- VLAN and QinQ service configurations
- Redundancy configuration, e.g. using HSRP
NETPortal 7.1 manages and assigns VLAN numbers and IP addresses. Ethernet discovery and reconciliation capabilities include Link Discovery Protocol (e.g., CDP) use for network topology and VLAN discovery and reconciliation.
The solution also generates router commands that can be executed directly with a script, for use when manual activation is preferred over automation.
