Video Clarity Enhances ClearView Product Line to Include Native Support for 3G-SDI, HDMI and Analog I/O

Video Clarity Announces 3G-SDI, HDMI, and Analog I/O Support

Simplifying Perceptual A/V Quality Scoring

Video Clarity, Inc. a leader in perceptual and objective A/V automated, quality assessment has enhanced its ClearView product line to include native support for 3G-SDI, HDMI, and Analog I/O at no additional charge.

Today, 720P and 1080i are used as the common HDTV transmission formats. The newest format 1080P exceeds the bandwidth of HD-SDI. To achieve 1080P, 2 HD-SDI I/O can be configured in dual-link mode or 1 3G-SDI I/O can replace the existing HD-SDI I/O. Transitioning to 3G-SDI reuses the existing HD infrastructure while decreasing latency and does not require re-cabling.

Further, the HDTVs, set-top boxes (STB), and cameras regularly use HDMI as their digital interface and component as their analog interface for HD formats.

Video Clarity’s ClearView systems offer A/V quality analysis tools for software developers, hardware designers, QA/QC engineers, video researchers, and production/distribution facilities. ClearView plays, records, displays, and objectively analyzes processed A/V streams. It aligns and compares the processed streams with the original to generate A/V quality scores using either the DMOS or JND scale.

“Simplifying A/V quality evaluation is our goal at Video Clarity,” said Bill Reckwerdt, Vice President of Marketing. “Adding HDMI and 3G-SDI I/O support affords equipment manufacturers and broadcasters a quantitative, automated, repeatable way to enhance their quality.”
