ExtendMedia Introduces Next-Generation Multi-Screen Video Monetization Platform With OpenCASE 3.5

Platform-Neutral Approach Provides Equal Support for Adobe Flash(R) and Microsoft Silverlight(R)-Based Services

ExtendMedia Corporation today announced the general availability of OpenCASE 3.5, a significantly enhanced version of its multi-screen video monetization platform. OpenCASE 3.5 was purpose-built to meet the needs of content creators and distributors seeking to build, deploy and manage unified video services across PC, TV, and mobile devices.

OpenCASE 3.5 introduces a number of enhancements that strengthen the product’s standing as the industry’s most flexible video monetization platform. Built from the ground up to be platform-neutral, OpenCASE 3.5 includes out-of-the-box integration with leading ad servers, CDNs, DRM providers and encoding platforms, supports both paid and ad-supported business models, and can deliver streamed or downloaded content to multiple devices. Enhancements include:

– Comprehensive Web Services-based SDK — providing easy integration
with legacy infrastructure including business rules and workflow
engines, subscriber billing systems, authentication platforms and
payment capabilities.
– New Video Player Framework — including embeddable browser-based
player widgets in both Adobe Flash and Microsoft Silverlight versions.
The players also include comprehensive social networking functionality,
flexible ad network integration, and unlimited skinning and
customization.
– Support for Microsoft’s PlayReady DRM and Expression Encoder –
delivering advanced multi-screen DRM capabilities via new plug-ins
that support Microsoft’s latest DRM platform and encoding offerings.
– Platform Enhancements — increased performance and scalability;
enhanced roles based access control; improved notification framework,
ease of use, and customization flexibility.

“As consumers demand seamless access across multiple devices, forward-thinking companies are realizing that a unified platform is the only cost-effective way to deploy a multi-screen video service,” said Tom MacIsaac, CEO of ExtendMedia. “Evolving market dynamics and consumer expectations also mean content creators and distributors are under pressure to support both ad-supported and paid business models. OpenCASE has been built specifically to enable profitable, next-generation video service offerings.”

Available via both hosted SaaS and enterprise license delivery options, ExtendMedia also offers a full range of expert consulting and professional services to help customers and partners maximize their content distribution investment.
