Cedar Point and Ericsson Demonstrate PacketCable 2.0 VoIP Features That Enable Cable Operators to Increase Revenue Opportunities at ANGA 2009

Cedar Point to Demonstrate PacketCable 2.0 VoIP Features at ANGA Cable Show in Cologne, Germany May 26-28
Cedar Point Communications, a worldwide leader in integrated Voice over IP (VoIP) switching technologies for service providers and enterprise telecommunications operators, and Ericsson, the world’s leading provider of network Infrastructure and telecom services, will demonstrate PacketCable 2.0 VoIP features that enable cable operators to increase revenue opportunities at the ANGA 2009 Exhibition and Conference, May 26-28 in Cologne, Germany.
Cedar Point and Ericsson will be displaying (in Hall 10.2 at Stand B41) Fused Services which are a direct result of an IMS based, PacketCable 2.0 architecture. The demonstration will illustrate interworking between PacketCable 1.x and PacketCable 2.0 and showcase the delivery of new PacketCable 2.0/IMS services to PacketCable 1.x subscribers, such as Intelligent Call Forwarding. Also being shown in the joint demonstration, will be Converged Multimedia Services over IMS. This demonstration will show communication sessions between TV and PC endpoints. Specific features being shown are: Instant Messaging (IM) and chat sessions; presence based picture caller ID displayed on TV and PC; as well as voice/video calls between the TV and PC.
In addition, Cedar Point will be showing SAFARIPortal(TM), a business services application portal that simplifies the customization process of services for telecommunications providers, SMB customers and end users that gives them the ability to change or modify services and calling plans. SAFARIPortal consists of three carrier-hosted, self-service, web portal applications: the Service Provider Portal, the Small and Medium Business Portal, and the Consumer Portal. These applications can be used to configure and administer VoIP calling features provided by the SAFARI C3(TM) Media Switching System. These simple-to-use yet powerful web portals allow consumers, administrators and operators on-line access to create and manage communications services in a cost-effective and personalized manner.
