Dust Networks New WirelessHART SmartStart Kit
Dust Networks Launches Developer Kit to Speed Time-to-Market for WirelessHART Devices
SmartStart™ Evaluation and Developer Kit Set New Industry Standard For Ease-of-Integration
Dust Networks®, the leading supplier of wireless sensor networking products, announced its new WirelessHART SmartStart Kit today at INTERKAMA 2009, the world’s largest industrial automation exposition. The SmartStart Kit supplies everything needed for industrial automation vendors to design, develop and test new WirelessHART-based field device solutions.
“Our kit provides a complete, intelligent mesh network designed to be up and running within minutes of opening the box,” said Dust Networks’ Vice President of Marketing, Steve Toteda. “OEMs leveraging the SmartStart Kit can dramatically shorten development time—often going from concept to product in half the time required by most WirelessHART development cycles,” Toteda added.
The SmartStart Kit includes a preconfigured SmartMesh IA-510 intelligent network manager with dynamic bandwidth to demonstrate multiple processes, 15 wireless mote modules, software libraries, sample WirelessHART command definitions and extensive documentation to simplify mote integration into WirelessHART field devices.
“WirelessHART preserves the investment in HART-enabled devices, tools and work procedures in use today, while extending the scope of monitoring and automation to areas which were previously in the dark,” said Ron Helson, Executive Director of the HART Communication Foundation. “Dust Networks’ SmartStart Kit will help accelerate the introduction of new WirelessHART devices from a wide range of vendors,” Helson added.
