The Embedded Control Module (ECM) and reference design for the Innovasic® fido1100 enables customers to develop rapid prototypes and begin low-volume production of embedded systems that require fail-safe, real-time control capability with support of a wide range of I/O interfaces. With very few externalcomponents, any combination of serialand parallel interfaces can be supported including UARTs, GPIO, 10/100 Ethernet, LCD, SPI, I2C, MII and CAN.

The ECM module contains a fido 1100 communications controller plus 16 MB of SDRAM, 8 MB of FLASH, and a crystal.
All fido pins are brought to connectors on the module with the exception of the address and data lines. The module is supported with a complete Module Evaluation Kit (MEK) including an Eclipse-based toolchain.
